Accessibility

Disability access is important to us here at The Mill. We welcome people with a disability into our community as artists and as audience members and we are continually working towards best practice in making our venue and programs accessible.

Angas Street entrances

The Mill has two entrances, the main entrance on the corner of Angas and Gunson Street and an accessible entrance further down Angas Street. Unfortunately, the main entrance is not accessible, as it has a small step from the pavement.

Both doors are locked from the outside, there is a doorbell on the main door that will alert The Mill team you would like to come into the building. A member of The Mill team sit in the foyer Monday to Friday and can assist you with access to our wheelchair accessible entrance.

The Mill main door on the corner of Gunson St and Angas St has a step from the pavement to the building.

The front door is locked from the outside, a member of The Mill team sit in the foyer and will welcome you into the building.

The second entrance is accessible and leads into the Exhibition Space. This entrance has an 85cm doorway and goes from bitumen footpath to concrete flooring within the building. There is a step from the road to the footpath with car parks out the front of the building. To access the footpath you will need to use the pedestrian ramp on the corner of Gunson Street.

The second entrance is wheelchair accessible and leads into our Exhibition Space.

The internal door to our artist studios opens both ways and is 84cm wide when pulled open and 80cm wide when pushed open. We also have an accessible toilet on site.

Both galleries have timber benches and stool seats available. The floors throughout the building are concrete and there are no steps on the lower floor.

We do have an upstairs level to the building, however this is unfortunately not accessible as it can only be accessed by stairs.
