Visual Arts Program

The Mill’s visual arts program highlights the practice of art-making and aims to make process more available to audiences through The Exhibition Space, The Mill Showcase and Virtual Galleries.

Performing Arts Residencies

The Performing Arts Residencies foster experimentation and creation. The Mill supports performing and interdisciplinary artists in developing and presenting new work through exploration, with a series of funded creative development opportunities.

Sponsored Studios

The Mill’s Sponsored Studios program launched in 2021 with support from The Mill Donor Circle and the James and Diana Ramsay Foundation. It has evolved in 2023 through relationships with Mahmood Martin Foundation and Sanaa.

First Nations Dance Program

Through this program artists will be supported to investigate new choreographic ideas, develop existing work, reveal new collaborative relationships, and develop their movement practice and culturally engaged collaborations with support from BlakDance (Qld) and Australian Dance Theatre (ADT).

Industry Pathways

The Mill’s industry pathways, focussed on training artists and arts workers to develop administrative, program coordination, curatorial and producing skills.

Writer in Residence

The Mill’s Writer in Residence program supports emerging writers from a variety of disciplines. The program focuses on developing and supporting emerging writers in the areas of arts, criticism and creative writing.

Fringe Festival Season

The Mill’s Adelaide Fringe Festival seasons are held in The Breakout, programming everything from theatre to circus, comedy, live music and more.
